MARK MESSIER AND SOURCE FOR SPORTS TEAM UP WITH ONE GOAL IN MIND

Mark Messier, former NHL star and founder of Cascade Sports and The Messier Project www.themessierproject.com , and national retailer Source For Sports®, comprised of over 150 independently owned sporting goods stores across Canada, partnered to support the One Goal initiative recently at the Source For Sports® annual Hockey Buying Show.

One Goal is a group of North America’s hockey industry leaders dedicated to help introduce both kids and families to the great game of hockey.  One Goal works with minor hockey associations and rink managers in local communities to provide resources they need to make the sport of hockey available to everyone.

One Goal donated 100 sets of hockey equipment to the Hamilton Bulldogs’ Skate The Dream Program, which is committed to help break the social and financial barriers that prevent local children in Hamilton, Ontario from learning to skate and play hockey.  The pilot project, which will be based out of Eastwood Arena in the city’s north end, is an opportunity for 72 to 100 children between the ages of 6 to10 to participate in Learn to Skate and 3-on-3 Learn to Play Hockey introductory programs.  Hamilton native and Stanley Cup champion Ric Nattress is the Honorary Chair of the program.

Mark Messier autographed four Messier jerseys donated by Reebok Hockey.   Source For Sports ® raised $4200.00 through raffle ticket sales for these jerseys during their annual Hockey Buying Show, which was given to One Goal to support their program.
